If I select a delayed start on my washing machine, liquid detergent will come in contact with the clothes before the washing cycle start?

The detergent enters the machine and is held in a space between the dispenser and the drum and therefore will not come in direct contact with your clothes unit the washing cycle begins and water enters the drum.
